 How to find us
Good access via the Auto Route A 20. Bergerac airport (with its low cost flights by Ryanair and Flybe from the UK) is only 40 minutes away and Bordeaux (now with it low cost flights by BMI Baby from Manchester) and Toulouse are also viable alternatives.
Our home Maison La Tourache is just outside the pretty village of Mauzens Miremont with extensive views of the surrounding woods and hills. Ideal for that early morning walk along the quiet lanes, then after breakfast, if you wish to go farther afield, there's much to do cycling, fishing, golf (course only 10 mins away), horse-riding sailing, tennis and river-canoeing.
We have 5 en-suite bedrooms, each furnished to a high standard and all with lovely views over the wooded grounds. There is a sitting room and dining room and french windows lead onto a large south-facing terrace overlooking the swimming pool [pool towels are provided daily at no additional cost] and woods beyond. The terrace is an ideal place for a lavish buffet breakfast or a pre-dinner aperitif.
By prior arrangement we can provide an occasional four course dinner and this is inclusive of aperitif, wines and coffee and is prepared from fresh local produce for 28 Euros per person. This can be taken on the terrace or in the candle-lit dining room which is warmed by roaring log fires in the winter. There is also a wide variety of restaurants in the area to suit all tastes and pockets.
We have a large ground floor bedroom which has three single beds. For the use of the third bed the rate is 20 Euros per night and this includes breakfast.
The local area
LES EYZIES is close with its pre-historic caves and paintings or the market town of LE BUGUE. visit the Tuesday market and sample the wines of Bergerac or take a short drive and visit the town of BERGERAC itself.
Both the region's capital town of PERIGUEUX and medieval SARLAT are within easy reach should you wish to stroll and shop in their old quarters for those gifts to take home.
Example room prices
When staying three nights or more our rate is 68 Euros ( £47 ) per night for a double room and is inclusive of breakfast . For stays of less than three nights the rate is 78 Euros per night.
